Niobrara River Run

[webmaster's note: Jerry gave me these notes a while back - I'm just now getting them transcribed onto the website. I'm typing them 'as-is' only correcting spelling and adding bracketed comments for clarity.]

1. Brewer's Canoers, Valentine NE (402) 376-2503 website
[Lodging at] Dunes Motel website (across the street) or tent camping at all put-in spots along the river.

2. (Memorial Day thru Labor Day) Weekdays give us way more flexibility - maybe consider Sturgis Week.

3. Shuttle Bus can pick us up at our home base [base camp], drop us off, pick us up downstream and bring us back [to base camp] for $7.00 per person.  Roads to put-in spots are rough dirt roads.

4. Tubes are the cheapest way to go over canoes and kayaks, plus they are slower.  They tie up to 5 tubes together - a group of 20 or 30 will be within sight and yelling range.

5. Tube Rates:
$26.00 1 day / 1 rider
$18.00 Additional rider
$46.00 2 days / 1 rider
$6.00 Cooler tube

* Rates are the same regardless [of] how far and how long we go.
* Rides are 2,3,4,5 and 6.5 hours depending on how busy it is and weather. We can determine how far we want to go.
* Deposit required (50% of rental due with reservation)
* No rainy day refunds - only rain check [which has] to be used by end of season.
* We need to submit a time and number of people on the website to find out if the time is available.
